Conference publicationsCareer preferences of Astrakhan studentsМосква, Центральный экономико-математический институт РАН vinokurova@yandex.ru This article is based on the results of a survey of Astrakhan students conducted in 2019 at 5 universities in Astrakhan. The purpose of the research is to study the career preferences and plans of students. Their attitude to various types of activities, to the type of work and payment was considered. We studied their motivations when choosing a job, as well as their preferences in work related to high technologies and in the field of entrepreneurship. It is revealed that Astrakhan students are quite conservative young people who are not inclined to risk and innovation, but highly appreciate stability and financial security. Along with this, they called the possibility of personal development an important motive when choosing a job. The students showed a great interest in entrepreneurship, but these are rather declarative statements, or rather dreams, a reflection of the subjective ideal of the future. The reluctance of students to engage in new technologies, create new products or work in science is also revealed. Thus, it is difficult to expect that Astrakhan students will make a significant contribution to the technological development of the region. |
